Project Always Forward Book Exchange

I’m thrilled to introduce Project Always Forward’s new initiative aimed at promoting educational equity and sustainability through a collaborative book exchange program. This program facilitates the donation and redistribution of used textbooks from well-resourced schools to under-resourced schools in need.

By participating in this program, schools can directly contribute to bridging the resource gap and supporting students in communities with limited access to educational materials. Together, we can ensure that every student has access to quality educational resources regardless of their socioeconomic background.

So far I have 45+ schools signed up, and hope that your school can further contribute to my mission of making a difference in the lives of students around the world.

Project Always Forward’s Impact

Why do we do it?

- My name is Carson Cattano, and I am a student at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, California.

- I founded Project Always Forward to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

- I am blessed to attend a supportive, well-resourced Catholic school and wish for every student to have that type of educational experience.

- Project Always Forward strives to positively impact students’ education by building bridges between well-resourced and under-resourced schools so that both can benefit.

What do we do?

- At Project Always Forward, we connect well-resourced schools with under-resourced schools worldwide to provide supplemental support and camaraderie.

- We match schools based on the number and ages of students and their specific needs, creating “sister” schools.

- Once connected, schools support their partner schools with donations such as uniforms, books, and sports equipment.

- Additionally, schools may provide peer-to-peer mentoring or buddy programs.

- Both sides benefit tremendously: one through the act of helping, and the other by receiving basic educational necessities.

Our Process

  • Step 1

We receive requests from under-resourced schools for assistance and from resourced schools who want to help other students.

  • Step 2

We match this under-resourced school with a well-resourced school based on number and age of students as well as the level of needs.

  • Step 3

The schools will communicate regularly and the well-resourced school will collect and send needed supplies for their partner school.

  • Step 4

Project Always Forward hopes that the partnerships made will continue to exist and provide support the communities that need it.
